Where's Juliana?

It's a WONDERFUL day! We got up a bit later than normal. It was so nice to not have to rush off anywhere. We decided that Juliana was needing an adventure because she was all over the place. So we headed out for the park. It was her first time at the park. We played on the swing, merry-go-round, slide and the wooden vehicles.

This morning I took some fun pictures of her having with daddy before we headed out. She smiles all the time! But she really LOVES playing with Matt. I just love it! Juliana is so adorable.

The other day, on my day off, Joanne and the kids came over to swim. Joanne helped me figure out how to change the bouncer to the activity play set. It is a 3 in 1. She doesn't like to sit still anymore so I had been wanting to change it. Joanne was able to get it all straightened out. Then Juliana decided it would be fun to try and eat it before going swimming. She was pulling the bar down and hanging on with her gums.

And one last picture before I head off.

Last week Juliana was napping. She looked so cute I had to take a picture. My peaceful Sleeping Beauty.

Christmas Shopping

I am so EXCITED! I have the day off tomorrow! Yay for me! I still have things to complete from last week. So that's what I will be doing part of the day tomorrow.

This past Friday I had an Usborne book party online. I really enjoyed it. There are several books I am excited to get for Juliana. Some will be Christmas gifts for her. I can't wait for Christmas. It is my favorite holiday. I'm already starting to put things aside for Christmas. I started at the beginning of the summer getting things and putting them aside. Soon I can start wrapping some.

If anyone wants to order from my online book party click here. It closes tomorrow night (August 4) at 8:00 p.m..

Dilemma

This question has haunted my mind lately... to sell my breastmilk or not. I've been bogged with this for a little while but something has to be done because I am OUT of room. No more room for anymore. So today I sat and tried to figure out the whole selling thing. People sell it for like $2.00 an ounce. One lady even sells it for $2.50 an ounce. They send it with dry ice through fedex. I have a thousand or two ounces. It would be GREAT to sell it and put that money away for Juliana or something. But I just don't know if it would be a hassle that I don't need. I put so many other things on my plate. So I have struggled with what to do. But tonight I ended up donating some. Below is just some of the milk I have. Our deep freeze is completely full with milk as well.

And on top of that yesterday I decided to wash our bed protector. You see before we got the new mattress last year we had always had the protector that zips around the mattress plus another one. I'm SUPER paranoid about bed bugs. When we got the new mattress we planned on doing the same but so far we had only got the zip up because I was in search for the perfect top protector. I had a protector I absolutely LOVED. It seemed to always go on nicely and has long as I was careful it didn't melt when I dried it. But could not find one that I seemed to like for the money. Moral of the story is yesterday it melted and that just mad my day even better.

So today's agenda to ENJOY it while getting some work done. Wish us luck. So far I've only managed a trip to the store and our morning volunteer work. I need to pick up, get the bed put back together with the new protectors, do Juliana's footprints and hopefully get some swim time in.

Caught By The Bug

My poor little girl has not been feeling well. She tries to be happy but she just doesn't feel well. Friday night was a crappy night. Juliana could not sleep and was up all night. I gave her a little bit of medicine but it didn't seem to help.

Saturday we ran to Burlington for the Des Moines County Fair. Juliana got to see some farm animals. I hope she enjoyed it. We didn't stay too long.

After getting home and taking a little nap Matt and Juliana made some brownies and carrot cake. Daddy sure knows how to have fun!

Sunday was not any better. We struggled through the night. Matt and I have also been attacked by the flu/cold whatever it is. I do not like it. Our nose runs and our throat is sore. Booooo .... hopefully we get better quickly because there are things to be done.

For now we will stay bundled up, cuddle together, watch musicals, chase our runny nose with a box of kleenex and suck on hard candy to soothe our throats. Happy Monday!

Fun In The Sun

On Wednesday Matt finally got to enjoy the pool! He has worked so hard to get it up for us...and had not been able to get in yet. It was really FUN swimming with him! Juliana and I loved it!

Six Months

On Wednesday Juliana had her six month checkup and shots. I hate that she has to get the shots. She did super good at her exam although she was all over the place... crawling across the exam table, pulling herself up, climbing the walls and trying to walk. The doctor was impressed. They had a hard time getting her weight and other anthropometric measurements. All the staff said she was really advanced and the doctor said we will definitely need to baby proof the house.

At a very early age we noticed how observant and curious Juliana is. She is constantly getting distracted because she is so curious with what is going on around her. I love all her cute little curious faces.

On her six month birthday she got to eat green beans. I pureed a bunch for her. But they are fighting with her milk for freezer space.

Cloth Diapering

So far so good with the cloth diapering. Like I said it took me a few minutes to figure out the snaps before I decided to watch the online video again. They feel really comfortable. There have been no leaks and she seems to stay dryer than when in a disposable diaper. I ordered 12 diapers with 24 inserts. At night I put two inserts in the diaper just to be safe and there hasn't been a problem. Washing has not been as difficult as I thought. Rinse and wash. So far everything seems to come out clean. And I love that it will grow with her.
