I'm not sure if anyone has ever seen this video. But I've blogged about it before. It is something I think is VERY important. So this summer I've been researching and checking for trainers. But the closest trainer is in Chesterfield, MO. I'm so sad. I really think the Keokuk Y should offer it...even if they only have a trainer come in for several weeks to do it. I'd be the first to sign my child up.
I did submit my name to the "waiting list". Joining the waiting list lets them know if there is enough interest in an area and helps them see a need for a trainer. Hopefully accelerating getting a trainer in the area. Point is maybe if everyone shares the need and signs up then maybe we can get one in the area. That would be GREAT. So click here to join the waiting list.
Or maybe you are interested in being certified yourself and doing classes? The link above also has a way to let them know you are interested in becoming certified. If this is you please let them know so I can get my daughter into a class! I would be forever grateful if you teach my daughter how to properly swim fully clothed... ISR style.
I amazed at their facebook posts of kids swimming fully clothed and underwater at such young ages.
Here is one example of an ISR trainer in action.

Caught By The Bug
My poor little girl has not been feeling well. She tries to be happy but she just doesn't feel well. Friday night was a crappy night. Juliana could not sleep and was up all night. I gave her a little bit of medicine but it didn't seem to help.
Saturday we ran to Burlington for the Des Moines County Fair. Juliana got to see some farm animals. I hope she enjoyed it. We didn't stay too long.
After getting home and taking a little nap Matt and Juliana made some brownies and carrot cake. Daddy sure knows how to have fun!
Sunday was not any better. We struggled through the night. Matt and I have also been attacked by the flu/cold whatever it is. I do not like it. Our nose runs and our throat is sore. Booooo .... hopefully we get better quickly because there are things to be done.
For now we will stay bundled up, cuddle together, watch musicals, chase our runny nose with a box of kleenex and suck on hard candy to soothe our throats. Happy Monday!

Superman
Have I ever told you all that I have Superman for a husband? He can do anything and everything. Yesterday, he spent all day working on the pool. He got a different pump that is suppose to be less maintenance and more natural than having to use chemicals. It was quite a pain for him to setup. His brother came over to help him finish it up.
Then tonight I came home from work and he was cooking supper. Check out this amazing tenderloin he made!

Without his help I would be completely lost. It is sooo hard to get things done with Juliana. He is a great help! I'm certain that I have the best husband in the entire universe.

Little Things
Monday was fun although I had about thirty minutes of frustration. Poor Juliana wanted me to pamper her. She seems to be teething. But i was trying really hard to get us ready to go swimming. It was difficult but when I finally gave in remembering things don't always go as planned the day turned around.
I like to plan things out and often have hard time just sitting there. I've always liked making to do list and crossing off completed tasks. So its very hard for me to sit still. Reminding myself that she will only be little once and to just cherish these moments helps me to sit still during those times as well.

Happy Days
I got to take Juliana for a dip in the pool yesterday. It was so exciting! But I didn't get any pics... maybe next time. The little bit we were in there wore her out. I cant wait to take her again.
Yesterday I was also able to organize the spare room, pick up some, do laundry and dishes, have Joanne and her family over, bake some cookies and relax with some hot cocoa. It was a pretty good day.
Today was another wonderful day. Although I had to work we were able to spend a couple of hours together before bed. Juliana loves to play and explore. The last couple of weeks she has been trying to crawl. She can get herself up but doesn't have the coordination figured out yet and often ends up going backwards. But I'm sure she will get it very soon.

Fill It Up, Please
The pool is filling up! I'm sure it will be costly but you only live once. Matt worked really hard to get it up. Thankfully his brother, Lance stopped by to help him. I felt really bad he was doing it all alone... I would have but I had the baby.
Now I need to complete some of my projects. I would be happy if I could get two of my projects done. But I don't think that's going to happen. Maybe I can get some organizing done.
I did get a couple of pictures of Miss Juliana. She is so adorable. I just love her!

The Grand Life
Things are going GRAND! Matt is working on getting our pool up! I can't wait. In the mean time I tried cleaning some while Juliana was sleeping. She has been taking little naps, nothing real big. That means she will be antsy tonight. After she woke up we walked up to Dollar General with Brittany and Maci. Then I attempted to get some pictures of Maci. I didn't get as many as I would have liked to. So hopefully I can try again later.
Joanne took some lovely photos of Juliana and Sadie the other day. Here are a few of Juliana's pictures.

New Job
Woohoo! I'm counting down the days til I start my new job! I've been looking for something more in my career field. I was offered two jobs. In fact I had started pre-screening for one. However, I received another offer that I couldn't pass up. It offered full benefits, more hours and more pay. I can't wait. Super excited! And best of all it will help me gain more knowledge needed for my ultimate career goal as a dietitian. Yay!
The wedding is getting closer as well! About three months left! There is so much we still have to do... get invites together, decide on flowers, find a clergy (that really needs to be done soon!), get hotels, and the list goes on and on. The good news is I take my dress to the seamstress on Thursday. Yay...one thing off the list! Maybe this week we can put some of the invites together as well. We shall see if I get some time as I have two exams to take by Saturday and the condos are also busy this week. Therefore, it maybe a challenge to find time.
In other news, Matt gave me a scare this past weekend. He and I have been trying to get the downstairs power washed the last couple of weeks. He borrowed a power washer from a friend but it didn't work. So he decided he would rent one. However, they only had a gas one available. In an effort to get it done he decided to just get it so we could the basement all cleaned up. Anyways, make a long story short there he got carbon monoxide poisoning. As I was loading everything up to get everyone out of the house he collapsed in the front yard. He woke up to me on the phone with 911. Oh it was an interesting night. At least he is okay.
After everything calmed down the next day and we got the house aired out Matt and I decided we wanted to relax with a nice DQ ice cream cake.
A couple of weeks ago we went golfing... well Matt and his brother golfed while Brittany, Maci and I rode around in the cart. He did really well that day.
Matt has also spent time repairing and upgrading his computer. The motherboard went bad in the other computer. He couldn't just switch out the motherboard because then the processor and whatever else would not be compatibility. So he kept what parts he could and replaced everything else.
As for me I've just been working, doing health screenings for my new place of employment, planning the wedding, and trying to stay caught up with my homework. On every Tuesday I have also been babysitting Maci so that Brittany can go to school. She is a lot of fun.
Today I am going to spend most of the day catching up on laundry and homework. Then preparing for my exams. So I best go get started on my to do list.

Bees and Dog Park
This past weekend was great. Although Saturday I was completely worn out by the end of the day and Sunday I had a headache that was trying to kill me.
Saturday we went to Quincy to run some errands. Since the errands would be rather quick we took Ty along so he could visit Petco and go to the dog park. He had so much fun that the rest of the day we heard nothing from him. I love when he gets to play because he doesn't worry about who is walking by that he can bark at.
After we got back I took Teddy on ride to deliver an invite to Matt's aunt. While we were visiting Teddy enjoyed his time out of the house.
Yesterday, we went to the Burlington Bees game. We had purchased some tickets for the community basket and you would receive an extra $1,000 if you were there to claim it. Anyways, we did not win... sad for us. A doctor did. The game was interesting and would have been much more enjoyable if my rear was not falling off from sitting in the stands for two hours. When we left the game was not even over...could you imagine if we would have stayed the whole time. Two hours was enough for me... I was glad to get out of there.
That wraps up our exciting weekend.

Who's This In The Pool?
Apparently we are not the only ones who like to use the pool because the day after they filled the pool one lonely duck was anxious to get in. No one must have told him that it doesn't open until May 23. lol. By the way the pool looks dirty... because they had just filled it and they were in the process of cleaning it. Usually it is not like that incase anyone is wondering.

Cookout
We got a new grill yesterday! Since we were so excited to use it ...that is exactly what we did today. It was really fun. Here are some pictures of the new grill and Matt making the marvelous food.
