Lady Antebellum

This year we were able to go to Steamboat Days again and this time see Lady Antebellum! We were pretty close to the stage. It was a lot of fun... despite it being so HOT and crowded.

Late Post

When I started to write this post the electric had just been turned on, basement was completely dry (...and so far so good... hopeful it stays that way), and there were only a few things left to finish ...well besides the outside...which our lovely neighbor said he would help with (yay!).

As of today the lights for the basement are finished... no more darkness! And today the plumber started to connect the basement pipes to the house pipes. Tomorrow we should have it complete! Woot!

I've slowly started moving things in and putting things away! We should be in very soon!

This was after our neighbor worked on the yard a little bit. He is going to continue to help us with it. We are very grateful for his help.

What A Nightmare!

On Saturday Dick, Matt and I went to Quincy to pick up our dryer and water heater. Matt's dad drove his truck separately. Both appliances were ready for pick up at Sears. When we got to Sear's they told us that the water heater was not the right one. So they were going to order another. However, because it wouldn't be in on time for the plumber to put it and they didn't have one equivalent to what we were looking for we decided to go look else where. We found a water heater similar to what we were looking for at Menard's. With the dryer in the truck and the water heater in the car we headed back. When we got to Lima we noticed a storm was brewing. We hoped to make it back to Warsaw without it raining on the dryer, but that didn't happen.

I got thinking with all the rain that we better go check the basement. When we got there we found that the basement window had not been locked and with the pressure had opened itself letting water and mud everywhere. After spending most the night there cleaning it up we locked the window and decided to finish the rest on Sunday.

So Sunday came, I went to work and then went to the house to finish up. Matt and Dick were going to meet me there. However, before coming to meet me they went to get some supplies to help the cleaning process. While I was waiting a storm came again. As I was watching the storm I heard a waterfall coming from the basement. Now I LOVE waterfalls but not in my basement!!!!! Anyways, I went to check it and I found something terrible happening in the basement! Water was filling the window well (it had nowhere to drain... they didn't install it right and was not draining properly...ugh), with so much pressure it was pushing water in from around the window. And then I saw the glass bow and heard it break. I was in utter shock... I just couldn't believe it! Once again we had to clean the basement! We didn't have anything to temporary stop the water and mud from coming in so the same thing happened Monday. Back to Cleaning Again... It has not been fun!

Someone can pinch anytime to wake me up from this nightmare! LOL.

Oh and after working most of the day on Sunday and then cleaning up the basement for five or six hours I came back to find this...

Thanks Ty!

Catch Up

Here is an update on what has happened in our construction zone since Monday. Tuesday painting and texturing was completed. All the light covers were put up as well. On Wednesday the stairs were finished, the basement window was installed, doors were adjusted and the trim was finished. Barant came to do the electric. However, he was not able to get it finished because he wasn't feeling well... turns out he has pneumonia. Poor guy. Thursday just a few touch up things were done. Our living room and bedroom furniture were delivered. Friday the furnace was completely installed.

Monday's Work

This past Monday stairs were built to lead to the basement, jacks were put up and the water line was ran.

Hot Rod Power Tour

The Hot Rod Power Tour started this past Sunday in Newton, Iowa. Their tour was scheduled to go through Hamilton around 11. So Matt, Ty and I went to Nauvoo to pick up some BBQ sandwiches from the store. Then we went to have our lunch in Hamilton and watch the cars go through. It was a lot of fun despite the fact that Ty got sick and we had to clean up his mess. He seems to get sick all the time. It's crazy!

He was so good while we were there. Isn't he soo cute just watching the cars go by?

Then Ty got too tired to watch anymore cars and we let him in the car to take a nap.
Here he is still all tuckered out from the day.
And I got burnt from being out in the sun!

What A Friday

Friday, there was a lot of work done around the house. The solatube and the air conditioner were installed (I think there is still some of that left to finish), the siding on the one side of the home was completed and some other odd end things such has preparing for other projects were taken care of. Also what little yard we have left got mowed thanks to Dick.

The basement is once again dry for now!... Thanks to Matt. He worked real hard on Thursday night to clean it up. Thank you Matt for all your hard work!
And because Ty is cute and waits so patiently at night for us to get done running around to take care of this house crap I got him a new chew toy. He spent hours chewing on it and then brought it up to bed with him. What a cute boy!
